The members are co-operating with each other in several areas including sharing best practices (clinical and non-clinical), collaborative relationships with other provider groups and advantageous purchasing relationships. A major focus of our organization is to provide information, consultation, and government advocacy to our membership to enhance quality of care for our residents while assuring that members are prepared for policy and legislative changes that impact nursing homes, assisted living and adult day health centers.
The network was formed by independent owners of skilled nursing facilities with strong community roots who wanted to be able to effectively handle the myriad changes facing the healthcare system and maintain their strong community roots.

VHNC is a membership group of 10 geographically diverse, family owned Rhode Island nursing homes with approximately 1,000 skilled nursing beds, two assisted living facilities comprising approximately 100 beds, a 64 bed memory care assisted living and two adult day health services programs.
